Alain Ducasse is the New Chef of Le Meurice
Le Meurice has finally put the rumors to rest and announced that they are handing the kitchen reins to Chef Alain Ducasse. Some folks on social media aren’t happy about it, while others are entirely supportive. Regardless of your point of view, he’s the new head chef as of September.
Ducasse says, “I am very honored that Franka Holtmann, General Manager of Le Meurice, with the support of François Delahaye, COO of Dorchester Collection, asked me to join Le Meurice. French cuisine has a place, a role and a major impact today.”
No worries over at the Athénée though, he isn’t leaving one for the other.
Ducasse continues, “I am pleased to contribute to its success in the two finest locations in Paris that are the Plaza Athénée and Le Meurice. As we approach the closing of the Plaza Athénée for improvement work, I have the great opportunity to continue the contemporary French cuisine at Le Meurice – remaining more than ever – faithful to the philosophy of focusing on the essence of the product in a constant search of simplicity and generosity.”
